How To Beat The Bloat This Summer

We all know what a bummer the symptoms of bloating can have on our summer plans. It’s uncomfortable, painful, and leaves us feeling overall bleh (how rude). Looking for ways to feel your ABSOLUTE best this summer? Don’t worry, we gotchu! Here are some tips on how to beat the bloat and get you feeling your best before your next summer vacay!

Skip the Salt

Salt is made up of electrolytes that manage your body’s fluid balance. When you eat too much of it, your body retains fluid, leaving you with the bloated feeling we all know and DON’T love. To avoid bloating from all this extra fluid, try to eat more natural foods. Foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, and plain whole grains like oatmeal are a better alternative that’ll leave you and your body healthy and happy (AND ready to crush your next ride).

Sip Sip Sip

Don’t worry, we are all about #balance and don’t expect you to completely stop eating salty snacks (pretty sure giving up chips and queso would be a crime). Our fix: hydrate hydrate hydrate! Did you know you’re made up of about 60% water? When you give your body the water it needs and MORE, it reduces retention and lets go of all the extra fluid it was holding onto (i.e. a culprit of a bloated belly). In other words, drink up to slim down!

Seek out Superfoods

Superfoods take eating healthy to the next level. Not only do they help you feel full of energy, but they also supply your body with A TON of nutrients (like a lot). Lucky for all of us, these superfoods also contain the superpower to banish bloat naturally, saving the day one snack at a time. A few examples of these bloat fighters are blueberries, yogurt, avocado, kale, pineapple, ginger, and sweet potatoes. Load up on these and we promise you’ll watch your bloat disappear. AKA these nutrient filled foods will have you surviving AND thriving.

Sweat it Out

Did someone say more ZYN classes?? Breaking a sweat is a speedy way to get rid of unwanted bloat. Sweating opens up your pores, letting your body naturally get rid of toxins and excess water (tell ‘em boy bye). So you’re not only losing calories, but bloat during your workouts too. Feel like saddling up in The Dome now? Whether you’re up for some High Intensity Interval Training on The Turf, or saddling in one of our indoor cycling classes, you’re sure to work up a major sweat.
